Primal Scream (temporalmente abreviado a PRML SCRM por la promoción del disco XTRMNTR) es un grupo de rock formado en Glasgow, Escocia en 1982, liderado por el que fuera batería de Jesus and Mary Chain, Bobby Gillespie. Actualmente el grupo está formado por los siguientes miembros: Bobby Gillespie (voz), Andrew Innes (guitarra), Martin Duffy (teclados), Simone Butler (bajo) y Darrin Mooney (batería). Otro guitarrista durante las giras es el productor Kevin Shields que fue miembro del grupo My Bloody Valentine.
La banda tuvo contrato hasta el año 2000 con Alan McGee's Creation, firmando posteriormente un contrato con Sony/Columbia.
